Overview:

This position is for Technical Services Lead for the project located in Columbia, MD. We are looking for a team member that will collaborate openly and has proficient oral and written communications skills. As a leader on our PMO team, you will be engaged in the administration of key vendor technical relationships, coordinating research and technology evaluation, as well as commissioning activities of technology of interest for the project. In this role, you will provide a critical bridge between senior customer technical representatives and our task order teams performing level of effort support to the customers’ requirements.

 

You will coordinate with assigned other tasks leads would include voice and data telecommunications systems engineering and lab operations, and troubleshooting efforts, as well as lead the team's efforts to research and recommend creative and innovative methods and solutions for telecommunications, networking, and other IT-related tasking. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will coordinate and maintain a schedule of tasking that is assigned by the Project Manager, and maintain frequent communications both internally and externally about progress on tasks, risk identification and mitigation, as well as impacts on priority work that is identified by the client and managed by the task leads assigned to that work.

 

You will work closely with the Project Manager for the effort to implement Bechtel’s Quality management approach and participate in the overall execution of technical work that will align with our Quality Program’s objectives. This position is located in Columbia, MD.

 

Responsibilities of the Technical Services Lead As delegated by the Project Manager: 

  • Coordination of our team’s technical vendor relationships, to meet the overall Infrastructure requirements for the program.
  • Monitoring of technical requests from the customer or Bechtel’s teams, coordination of research activities to support customer end goals, formal technical risk assessment of issues/concerns for customer consideration, providing support to TTO leads to ensure quality execution and customer satisfaction, development of schedule tracking and periodic status tools/methods, communication and associated cost or schedule risk management issues to Bechtel and Customer leadership, and support other team leaders with the alignment of our work with the contract, CDRL’s, statement of work, task order requirements, and client priorities.
  • Supervision and coordination of vendor commissioning and testing work, closely coordinating with the sponsoring TTO Lead and Technical Lead, developing priorities and ensuring the proper coordination, prioritization and execution of tasking is done to meet the client’s evolving requirements and needs.
  • Participation in the program level quality management program, providing critical input and guidance on technical innovations and creative ways to meet requirements.
  • Coordinate work closely with the programs TTO leads, planning vendor technical support and research-related tasking as required to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide key zippering interfaces with senior customer technical directors and leads, or other client leads as assigned by the PM, collaborating with these representatives to determine specific requirements and priorities 
  • Be the primary interface with other program stakeholders, as assigned by the PM, to ensure an integrated team approach to problem-solving/conflict resolution that are in alignment with the customer’s overall needs.
  • Influences others on the project team outside their direct line of authority, ensuring that priorities and needs of the customer are met as required under the program.
  • Work closely with the Programs Procurement Manager to ensure alignment around vendor technical and business concerns, supporting negotiations and customer communications around prospective discretionary purchasing activities.
  • Compiles and assembles material for management and customer meetings.
  • Prepares agenda, makes necessary arrangements, and drafts minutes and action lists.
  • Prepares or directs the preparation of progress and special reports to Bechtel management and customers as assigned.
  • Participates in special assignments and administrative studies as assigned.   

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • You must possess an active TS SCI security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with thirteen (13) years of experience relevant to Information Technology OR nineteen (19) years of work experience relevant to Information Technology in lieu of a degree.
  • Salary and grade commensurate with experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Technical experience with IT Infrastructure and Telecom Equipment.
  • Operations Schedule Development and tracking experience Excellent interpersonal, communication, and written skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading the scheduling and deconfliction.
  • Risk management of technical work scope.
  • Experience implementing quality management processes on lab infrastructure environments.
