Project Overview:

Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities.The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.

Job Summary:

The On‑Site Tool Supervisor (OSTS) leads the Bechtel Equipment Operations (BEO) Tool and Consumables Program (TAP) at the EVA Copper site in Cloncurry, QLD. This role is responsible for the receipt, storage, issue, and replenishment of tools and consumables to support project execution.The OSTS manages and trains the Small Tool and Consumables team, oversees daily operations of tool rooms and warehouses, administers ToolHound, and ensures compliance with BEO and site procedures. The role includes planning tool and consumable requirements based on craft staffing forecasts, monitoring manning schedules, and ensuring inventory availability, control, and security. The OSTS also manages supplier coordination, develops field RFQs, supports procurement activities, and ensures value‑focused sourcing of tools and consumables. The position reports operationally to the Site Indirects Manager and functionally to the Tool Operations Manager (USA).

 
This role is open to both local applicants and FIFO candidates on a 2:1 roster to Cloncurry, QLD.

Major Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of the BEO Tool Program is to establish centralised warehousing and distribution to support all craft disciplines on the project. This service‑oriented operation is designed to minimise delivery times, standardise products used on site, and ensure the timely and efficient delivery of materials to support project execution.

  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly work plans for OSTS and warehouse personnel
  • Lead safe work execution, including toolbox talks and daily “Plan of the Day” activities
  • Oversee receipt, inspection, documentation, and physical counting of incoming materials
  • Manage preparation and review of FMRs, MRRs, shipping documents, invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading
  • Ensure accurate inventory control, audits, reconciliations, and reporting (manual and system‑based)
  • Maintain custody, storage, security, and tracking of project materials, tools, and consumables
  • Manage Tool Account Program (TAP) compliance, invoicing, and contract obligations
  • Coordinate sourcing, procurement support, RFQs, supplier engagement, and surplus material disposal
  • Provide leadership, training, and jobsite instructions to assigned personnelOversee supply and distribution of tools and consumables to site end users in line with project procedures

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Strong automation skills, ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Proficient in organizing tasks for completion by an agreed deadline.
  • Knowledge of small tool and consumable program operations and management.
  • Knowledge of material handling/warehousing processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of small tools, consumables, rigging and safety materials commonly utilized during construction.
