Project Overview:

Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities.   The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.

Job Summary:

A specialized project role responsible for managing and tracking electrical commodities (like cables and conduits) from design to installation. They ensure complex construction work packages are properly built and safely handed over to the client. #LI-NP1

Major Responsibilities:

  • Package Management: Developing and managing electrical work packages using construction software systems (like Setroute) to track components.
  • System Turnover: Defining system boundaries and conducting field walk-downs with subcontractors and clients to resolve construction issues before final project handover.
  • Field Support: Providing technical direction to electrical superintendents and workers, ensuring design drawings are accurate and executable.
  • Material Tracking: Monitoring the arrival, storage, and precise usage of electrical materials against design estimates

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Software Familiarity: Deep working knowledge of SetRoute. Familiarity with the broader Bechtel suite of software is a major plus (e.g., TEAMWorks, Unifier, Aconex, and Smart Completions).
  • Reading Drawings: The ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Cable Routing Principles: Understanding minimum bend radii, cable tray fill percentages, separation of voltages (low/medium/high), and tray routing constraints.
  • Codes and Standards: Familiarity with electrical industry standards such as the AS3000
  • Advanced Work Packaging (AWP): Understanding AWP and Installation Work Package (IWP) methodologies for sequencing construction work.
  • Data and Database Management: Intermediate to advanced capabilities in managing relational databases, configuring software process maps, and generating report
