Project Overview:
Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities. The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.
Job Summary:
Bechtel is seeking an ES&H Administrator to join EVA Copper working from the Cloncurry site located in Queensland.
The HSE Administrator under the supervision of the HSE Manager and with the requirements stated in the HSE Management Plan.
The HSE Administrator provides:
- The administrative support to meet project, corporate and legislative requirements in addition to helping the project to be successful in controlling the risk of harm to people, property, and the environment.
- A variety of specialized administrative support within the ES&H Department through research, analysis, and coordination. Assignments involve semi-technical subjects. Coordinates administrative activities and uses office automation tools. May direct the activities of others. Coordinates and monitors workflow and quality of work within assigned area.
Major Responsibilities:
- Attend pre-start and toolbox meetings and compile and distribute minutes and supply required documentations.
- Prepares reports required for the analysis and determination of both leading and lagging trends
- Prepares confidential and sensitive reports
- Acts as the project administrator of corporate HSE software programs
- Supports HSE team members in the use of corporate HSE software programs
- Openly communicates with the Project HSE Manager on administrative matters
- Participates in HSE meetings to identify and action administrative requirements
- Helps coordinate furniture and space allocation, space planning, and needs, such as telephone, word processing, and mail service.
- Assists with the coordination and the development of HSE work planning and training materials.
- Coordinates meetings, arranging for facilities, equipment, and refreshments. May prepare and distribute notices, agendas, information packets, and minutes.
- Coordinates newly assigned employees to attend required onboarding, training, etc.
- Maintain site safety records, including Incident Register, JHA Register, Risk Register, Corrective Action Register, Workplace Inspections, Induction Records, Procedures, Plans and Instructions
- Any other duties as assigned by the HSE Manager / Deputy HSE Manager
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to environmental, safety, health, education, or a science-related discipline and 1-2 years of relevant experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Professional skill set to deliver administrative outputs
- Intermediate level of written and verbal communication
- Professional telephone and personnel interactions/practices
- Demonstrated knowledge of excellent filing systems and common office procedures
- Attributes that openly display HSE as a personal value
- Ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, targets and objectives
- Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate in a fast-paced environment
- General Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
