Job Summary:

Senior Engineer has design and detail engineering experience in Water treatment Packages for Semi-Conductor, Power and Data Center projects. The candidate will be responsible for engineering activities in mechanical discipline on a project, or designated portions of a project, for a global business unit. Plans and perform engineering assignments on the project.

Candidates who have expertise in Water Treatment systems are responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing water and wastewater treatment systems including Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) system for semiconductor plants to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and operational efficiency. This role involves technical expertise in water chemistry, process design, equipment selection, and project execution for industrial and municipal applications.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare PFDs, PIDs, MSDs, Data sheets. Commenting/review on the same for completeness
  • Participating in IDC process. Interaction with Engineering disciplines, Clients / PMC, Bidders / Vendors
  • Design, preparation of Design Criteria, Mechanical Data Sheets/Engineering drawings, Material Requisition. Review of Quotes, assessing deviations, raising Technical Queries, Technical Evaluation, Purchase Requisition
  • Review of Vendor Prints 
  • Interact with Global offices, execute work on workshare mode.
  • Assist project/proposal activities
  • Coordinate technical issues with other departments on projects 
  • Develop standard documentation for use on projects
  • Implement/Capture Lesson Learnt
  • Travel to assist activities at other engineering offices, supplier’s works, construction sites
  • Engineering for working on EPC/EPCM, FEED and other modes of project execution

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university and 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities. Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Develop and implement water treatment processes, including raw water, potable water, cooling water, RO, EDI,UV and demineralized water, and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Size and select pumps, valves, and other mechanical components for treatment systems.
  • Knowledge about design and engineering practices, equipment data definition, procurement, construction, handover processes and related activities pertaining to Mechanical equipment and packages. This includes, but is not limited to, direct/indirect exposure and experience with one or more of the following types of mechanical equipment and packages:
    • Pre-treatment packages including tanks, vessels, Pumps, thickeners, classifiers and rake mechanisms
    • Water treatment packages
    • Biological wastewater treatment systems
    • Aerobic wastewater treatment systems
  • Wastewater treatment Systems/packages involving Acid waste collection, neutralization, Caustic system, Sulfuric system, Concentrated copper waste, Corrosive solvent waste, Acid waste, General Solvent Waste, Hydrofluoric Waste, Ammonia wastewater, Organic Waste Segregation, Solvent Acid Waste, Slurry copper waste, Spin on Glass Solvent Waste, Sulfuric Segregation, Trimix waste
  • Bulk Chemical Delivery, Chemical Injection and Treatment systems (Aqueous/Corrosive Solvent, Corrosive Solvent, Blender systems…etc
