Job Summary:
Electrical Engineer with experience on basic and detailed design and project co-ordination of Electrical works on Power, Manufacturing & Technology and M&M projects. Has a good knowledge of Electrical System and Physical design, the principles, and practices of related technical areas and of coordinating with other technical disciplines. Candidate should have exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other foreign codes/standards and local practices.
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs electrical discipline work which involves the preparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, electrical layout plans including lighting and grounding systems.
- Participates in one or more of the following:
- Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL)
- Equipment design and development
- System design, including concept sketches and layouts
- Preparation of specifications and design calculations
- Reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data by other engineers or by suppliers
- Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports
- Preparation or review of material quantity estimates
- Uses engineering computer aided design/computer aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools
- Reviews design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and prepares comments & recommendations.
- Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders.
- Participates in and fosters a work environment that is based upon directness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A recognized bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical engineering, from an accredited college or university with an overall experience of minimum 3 years.
- Site experience will be an added advantage.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems.
- Experience of preparing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and vendor print reviews for various electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of preparation of load list, MCC schedule etc.
- Experience in various electrical layouts like grounding, raceways and lighting etc.
- Review of 3D Model using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model.
- Reviews with Client, Vendor and Subcontractors.
- Knowledge of project controls within discipline.
- Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
- Basic skill in oral and written communication
