Job Summary:

As an SME specializing in Industrial Bulk and Specialty Gas Systems, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring successful project outcomes. Your expertise will facilitate seamless coordination among stakeholders, guide technical discussions, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality solutions.

The Semiconductor Bulk and Specialty Gas Technical Specialist is a self-driven, high performing professional with a proven track record in the design and construction of semiconductor manufacturing facilities (Fabs). In this role, you will leverage your expertise in the design, development, and optimization of Industrial Bulk and Specialty Gas Systems for semiconductor facilities. Your responsibilities include identifying, developing, and incorporating industry-leading practices, processes/tools, as well as providing training to our engineering and construction professionals.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams to meet gas system requirements.
  • Facilitate technical conversations.
  • Evaluate project outcomes and provide constructive feedback.
  • Propose innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Coordinate with project managers for smooth implementation.
  • Provide technical guidance during client interactions.
  • Stay abreast on industry trends and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Execute independent work on large projects.
  • Contribute to design and development using relevant procedures and standards.
  • Communicate complex issues effectively and propose viable solutions.
  • Participate in safety and operability reviews.
  • Prepare estimates and work plans, support implementation, and assist in reporting.
  • Mentor team members and participate in educational programs.
  • Participate in design reviews to evaluate design, construction, and installation methods.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience, 10+ years in Semiconductor Industry.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Bulk and Specialty Gas Systems:
  • Understand the design, operation, and maintenance of gas systems used in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Familiar with various gases (e.g., N2, Ar, He, O2, Cl2, CO, ClF3, SiH4, SiF4, WF6, etc.) and their applications.
  • Know the equipment (valves, regulators, tanks, valve boxes) and materials (tubing, fittings) used in gas distribution.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers/vendors to stay informed about new technologies and best practices.
  • Prior Experience in Design and Construction Roles:
  • In design roles: understand system layout, sizing criteria, pressure drops, and safety considerations.
  • In construction roles: grasp installation procedures, quality control, commissioning, and compliance with standards.
  • Detailed Working Knowledge of Industry Codes and Standards:
  • Be well-versed in relevant codes (e.g., IBC, NFPA 55, SEMI S2) and industry standards.
  • Understand safety protocols, leak detection, and emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Creative Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Approach complex challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Think critically and adapt to project-specific needs.
  • Enthusiasm for Continuous Learning and Technical Development:
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and webinars.
  • Effective Communication and Collaboration:
  • Articulate ideas clearly in technical discussions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, project managers, and clients.
  • Experience Managing Complex Technical Issues:
  • Handle unexpected situations, troubleshoot problems, and adjust plans as needed.
