Job Summary:
In this role, you will plan, develop, and review Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure PD&P designs comply with all regulations and standards.

Major Responsibilities:
- Leads or administers work of PD&P designers and drafters for a business line technology to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings
- Develops designs for complete and complex 3D model equipment layouts & pipe designs with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed
- Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations
- Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved PD&P design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy
- Participates in constructability reviews
- Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort
- Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents
- Reviews PD&P design scope changes, as required, for project management
- Endorses or prepares reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use
- Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards
Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience developing and maintaining BIM models with defined LOD specifications (LOD 100-500) for the engineering discipline of Plant Design and Piping.
- Experience with 3d-modeling of complex piping systems, pipe supports, and modeling of mechanical equipment for a large industrial manufacturing facility (semiconductor fabs or data centers) project.
- Knowledge of CAD design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
- Experience in the use of 3d Modeling tools; AutoCAD Revit and Navisworks.
- Experience with multi discipline interface management and global 3D model oversight.
- Experience in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
- Obtains good listening, oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work experience on a medium or major size project in engineering management at Bechtel.
- Previous modularization, OSM, modular piping design project execution experience.
- Knowledge of Bechtel Engineering Department Procedures.
- Prior experience in planning and executing greenfield or brownfield projects in one or more of the following market segments: Semiconductor, Data Center, Electric Vehicle, or EV Battery.
