Project Overview:

Bechtel currently manages the Mobile Launcher 2 Project which is the design and construction of a launch platform for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The purpose of ML2, located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), is to provide a launch platform for the Space Launch System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s need for deep space missions.

 

Job Summary:

As part of the Advanced Work Package team, candidate shall interface with team members across the construction site in both Construction and Pre-Commissioning to expedite and track work completion by startup system in order to manage system turnover packages. Role shall have good interpersonal skills. The Turnover Coordinator will report to the AWP Manager/ Deputy Project Field Engineer. #LI-CL1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of System Completions and Turnover related plans, procedures, and field instructions.
  • Implement the Project Turnover process in accordance with Bechtel Standard Work Processes and Procedures (SWPPs), Project Procedures, and ITPs.
  • Review field generated inspection records for quality and completeness.
  • Manage field generated inspection records in completions management software for tracking and reporting.
  • Utilize multiple databases and BSAPs for reviewing and checking dossiers including Teamworks, Setroute, Infoworks, Unifier, Aconex, and Smart Completions (Completions Database).
  • Support the implementation of the records retention and turnover plans.
  • Operate standard office equipment and automation tools.
  • Track pending issues and actions impacting system turnover.
  • Implement an effective and efficient punch list process.
  • Work with Field Engineering and CSU teams to define Tag and ITR requirements for Turnover deliverables.
  • Integrate required vendor and project data from Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) to Electronic Turnover Packages.
  • Control and maintain master set of System Turnover PIDs - manage system scoping against P&IDs and other engineering drawings; and facilitate in data validation.
  • Verify documentation for quality and completeness.
  • Organize and lead system completion walk downs.
  • Identify and classify final walkdown punch items.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes, including Standard Work Process Procedures and Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including TEAMWorks Completions Module or Smart Completions, Infoworks or Aconex, is preferred.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
