Project Summary:

The ML2 Project involves the design and construction of a launch platform for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The purpose of ML2, located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), is to provide a launch platform for the Space Launch System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s need for deep space missions. ML2 includes many different subsystems that must operate and fit within the constraints of the structure and provide physical interface with KSC launch sites’ ground systems.

 

This position will require to work a night shift schedule Monday - Thursday (7:00pm – 5:30am) at project location and may require rotating shifts including weekends or holidays.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs Night Shift timekeeping (7:00pm – 5:30am) and document control duties for project.
  • Ensures timekeeping functions are performed in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for activities including preparation of craft professional hire and termination documents, verification of daily attendance, collection and verification of daily timesheets, cost coding of timesheets and distribution of paychecks for craft professional employees.
  • Reviews reports prepared in the timekeeping department for accuracy and completeness including verifying correct hourly rates and hours worked by all craft professionals for accurate accounting to the labor distribution report.
  • Maintains direct working relationship with union stewards, craft foremen, general foremen, superintendents, safety representatives and Bechtel labor relations representatives.
  • Provides document management support to include, maintaining, retrieving, processing, indexing, and distributing a wide range of project records and revision-controlled documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, supplier submittals, correspondence, material requisitions, construction work packages, change documents, etc.) in accordance with established procedures, instructions, and guidelines.
  • Performs data entry using an enterprise management system (ECMS) and document quality checks on all documents. Monitor and review data entry accuracy for assigned work by performing daily, weekly, and monthly quality checks to verify data accuracy. Adhere to data entry accuracy rates established for supervisor. 
  • Assemble information needed to support project activities. Create and/or update desktop work instructions and procedures.
  • Interface with internal and external customers in the resolution of questions, issues, or actions relating to document control matters on a routine basis.
  • Work with project team members to ensure records are complete, accurate and compliant with procedural requirements.
  • Create and distribute document processing reports, as requested. Provide metrics to supervisor, as requested. 
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors and managers. Ability to work overtime on short notice as required. Instruct others in the use of the document management system. 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree. In lieu of degree, six (6) years of relevant work experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen or be a permanent resident of the United States.
  • Must be able to pass security screening requirements and be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to the Kennedy Space Center Facility.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Intermediate to expert proficiency in Database Entry and Filing.
  • Good proficiency in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. A skills test will be required.
  • The individual should possess good knowledge of professional timekeeping principles, concepts, and terminology, working knowledge of electronic timekeeping systems, and payroll related principles, concepts and terminology as basic accounting and craft payroll work processes.
  • Ability to train others in use of software applications used for document management and timekeeping activities.
  • The position requires attention to small details to ensure accuracy and completeness of documents/records and to ensure correct revisions are being used.
  • This position performs a variety of other tasks associated with document management and timekeeping activities and works closely and professionally with peers, technical leads, supervisor, and customers. 
  • Candidate must have at least one year of timekeeping experience at a jobsite.
  • Knowledge of professional timekeeping and document management principles, concepts, and terminology.
  • Experience in document control practices and process.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer applications.
  • Able to efficiently organize work activities to meet daily and weekly deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Function well in a fast-paced environment and deal with pressure in a professional manner.
  • Must be proactive, use individual initiative, follow assignments through to completion, be attentive to detail, produce quality products, and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Possess a high degree of flexibility, have strong interpersonal skills, and a proven record as a team player.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Timekeeping and document management knowledge and familiarity with Bechtel processes and procedures.
  • Prior experience working with supplier documents using InfoWorks or Aconex.
  • Ability to perform within fast-paced team environment in professional manner.
  • Previous experience with timekeeping computer systems (e.g. eTRACK).
  • Prior experience working in a government environment.
  • Prior experience working in an engineering, procurement, construction environment.
  • Prior experience with Bechtel’s software.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel’s organization structure, functions, policies and procedures, industry and regulatory standards.

 

This position will require to work a night shift schedule (7:00pm – 5:30am) at project location and may require rotating shifts including weekends or holidays. All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the facility is required.
