The ML2 (Mobile Launcher) Project is the design and construction of a launch platform for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).  The purpose of ML2, located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), is to provide a launch platform for the Space Launch System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s need for deep space missions.  ML2 includes many different subsystems that must operate and fit within the constraints of the structure and provide physical interface with KSC launch sites’ ground systems.


Job Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Essential duties include the locating, modeling and designing supports for various piping systems and performing associated calculations.
  • Work closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
  • Prior experience modeling pipe supports in a 3D model


Basic Qualifications

  • AA/AS degree or certification in an engineering or drafting/design with 8 years’ experience or; 12 years related experience
  • US Citizenship required
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check.


Minimum Qualifcations:

  • Candidate should be familiar with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3.
  • Prior experience should include working in a 3D model environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Creo modeling experience
  • Prior experience using Pipe SupportModeler software.
  • Previous Bechtel project experience.
  • Prior NASA/ML design experience
