Delivery Manager - (Umbilicals + Other)

Position Overview:

Responsible for cross-functional coordination of multiple work activities on the ML2 Project in support of critical deliveries as determined by ML2 Project Management. Ensures that Corporate, global business unit management and project and policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed. Works closely with Project Management and Acquisition Services Management to ensure assigned suppliers are maintaining their manufacturing and fabrication schedules to meet the project ROS dates. Travel will be required to vendor/supplier locations as needed to ensure comprehensive knowledge of all scope of supply for the assigned equipment to drive supplier performance.  The project requirements include Federal Acquisition Regulations and AS9100 Rev D Quality Assurance Standards. 



Reports to and receives operational direction from Delivery Manager Supervisor. Provides direction to geographically assigned personnel required to support requirements of the Project Procurement Management, Delivery Managers, Engineering, Project Controls, Construction, Area Expeditors, Supplier Quality and other project disciplines to ensure process standardization and mutual development and understanding of objectives, and plans. Maintains working relationships with assigned team members at levels appropriate to achieve pre-established objectives to assure project requirements are met. Provides guidance and direction in identifying and resolving manufacturing and delivery problems with suppliers. Collaborates with Supplier Management to identify and resolve problems in supplier operations that affect their ability to meet scheduled delivery dates. Reports supplier performance to Acquisition Services and Project Management. Prepares within management reports the status and performance of key fabrication activities for assigned suppliers. Supports the project Acquisition Services Manager by preparing fabrication and completion forecasts based on projected scope and schedule of the project. Weekly and monthly reporting progress for commercial and technical issues and mitigations. Maintains thorough contact with suppliers, maintains awareness of current supply chain performance with sub-suppliers and subcontractors, and advises Procurement Management accordingly. Ensures that the global business unit projects have current and updated Supplier Performance Database (SPD) and Digital Supply Chain (DSC) databases. Represents the project for meetings between Bechtel, customer, and supplier personnel.  


Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

Must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school and 9+ years of progressive professional experience. In lieu of degree, must have 15+ years of progressive professional experience. Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident of the US. Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Must be able to obtain site security badge for access to work site.  


Minimum Qualifications:

General knowledge in techniques of fabrication, manufacturing, testing and delivery of materials and equipment. Working familiarity with engineering, planning and scheduling, construction, and procurement practices and an understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures. Knowledge of major suppliers of equipment and materials used on projects. Effective commercial awareness of purchase order terms. Effective communicator and coordinator. 


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in project management. Technical/engineering background with emphasis on mechanical (ASME/BPVC and NFPA-86 preferred) and structural (AISC). Experience in fabrication and manufacturing and scheduling of the same.
