These teams include environmental scientists, safety specialists, and industrial hygiene scientists. Collectively, they provide technical guidance and perform planning, risk assessment, inspections and monitoring, training, and data management
Job Summary:
The Craft-Based Leadership (CBL) Coordinator leads the project’s behavior-based safety program, leveraging field observations and timely, constructive feedback from trained craft observers to strengthen safe work practices. The CBL process reinforces courageous leadership by empowering craft professionals to take ownership of ESH performance in their work areas. This role applies practical occupational, safety and health expertise to plan, execute, and continuously improve CBL activities across all phases of the project, and reports to the ESH Services Manager or Project ESH Manager. #LI-AE2
Major Responsibilities:
• Plan, implement, and sustain the CBL program to align with project culture, work scope, and craft capabilities.
• Design and execute a CBL training strategy for craft, field supervision, and project leadership.
• Train and coach CBL observers on program expectations, quality observations, and effective feedback techniques.
• Lead the observer team to conduct field observations, document trends, develop action plans, and communicate results to the project team.
• Review observation reports for completeness, quality, and actionable improvement opportunities.
• Continuously improve the CBL program based on field feedback, leading indicators, and project phase needs.
• Monitor program performance and provide regular updates on successes, gaps, and recommended corrective actions.
• Partner with field leadership and the Project ESH Manager to address CBL priorities, barriers, and emerging risk trends.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with craft observers, supervision, and ESH team members.
• Facilitate observer meetings to resolve issues and drive actions using observation data and CBL requirements.
• Complete CBL data entry and develop reports to support trend analysis and leadership engagement.
• Maintain accurate CBL records, reports, and supporting documentation in accordance with project requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in occupational safety, health, or a related science discipline with 4+ years of relevant safety/occupational health experience; or Associate’s degree (or equivalent) with 6+ years; OR 8+ years of relevant safety/health experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to research, interpret, and apply organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and coaching in the field.
• Proficient computer skills for presentations, data management, and report development.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills to identify hazards, evaluate risk, and implement practical controls.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the project organization.
• Ability to plan and coordinate work requiring independent judgment and sound professional experience.
• Ability to work outdoors in a field environment under varying weather conditions.
• Ability to support multiple shifts, as required, and perform a wide range of field-based tasks.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build trust with craft and supervision.
• Demonstrated commitment to ESH as a core personal value.
• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
• Comfortable working in a high-visibility field environment and adapting approach to different crews and project phases.
