Project Overview:
RGLNG is a natural gas and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and two marine berths. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
Job Summary:
Provide support as required to the construction team reporting directly to the Project Field Engineer. Supervise and/or direct activities relating to construction engineering, layout of foundation locations, equipment locations, structural steel placement; subcontracts, and engineering liaison with the design functional group. Use design drawings, model and specifications to determine associated commodities locations. Works with Field Engineering to support field verification of materials as appropriate and needed. Provides technical support as related to survey to Field Engineering and Superintendents in a wide range of situation and configurations. Multi-Disciplined Field Engineering responsibilities with earthwork, excavation, concrete, structural steel, marine works, etc. installation activities. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
Safety/Quality Control
· Supports the survey team’s implementation of the project safety, quality, and environmental programs
· Assists with the housekeeping and cleanliness of project survey assets
· Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely
· Ensures work methods planned and executed safely
· Draws field sketches and As-built drawings. Preparing machine control models.
· Supports Field Engineering in preparation of Non-conformance reports, Design Change Notices and Request for information
· Supports in coordinating and resolving engineering, and construction problems with Superintendents or other project personnel
· Reviews project design and engineering documents, model, and model data to ensure their completeness and readiness for safe layout and verification
· Prepares Survey calculations and Survey Reports for all project disciplines/scope
· Supports Field and office training program
Equipment Management
· Supports measuring and test equipment (M&TE) process
· Supports Projects weekly/monthly equipment collimation requirements
· Supports Survey Equipment maintenance process and maintains calibration logs
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of Bechtel construction procedures.
- Demonstrated experience using Leica survey equipment and field software.
- General awareness of environmental laws.
- Awareness of government compliance standards.
- Prior Infra GBU experience.
- Prior LNG Project Surveying Experience.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment Machine Control technology.
- Experience with 3D Laser Scanning hardware and software.
- Experience as Pilot of UAV (Drones).
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to Metrology field & office activities.
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to Laser Scanning field & office activities.
