Project Overview:
Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas.
RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will lead the Site Finance Operations for the Rio Grande LNG project, with day-to-day reporting to the Field Project Controls Manager and functional reporting to the Project Accounting Manager in Houston. #LI-HB1
Major Responsibilities:
• Serve as the on-site lead for Finance operations, ensuring alignment with Project goals and corporate financial policies
• Supervise the site Timekeeping team, ensuring accurate and timely entry of hours, discrepancy resolution, weekly payroll processing, and management reporting
• Review, analyze, and report on financial, labor, and ledger data to ensure accuracy and integrity, and respond to inquiries from Project Management and other departments
• Support the Accounts Payable function, working with the Field Procurement and Contracts teams to streamline invoicing processes, facilitate approvals, and ensure timely vendor payments
• Coordinate with internal, external, and customer audit teams to support audit readiness and compliance
• Provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities for site finance staff
• Support project employees with payroll and expense report inquiries and issue resolution
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Project Accounting roles, including supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a major in accounting preferred
- Above average communications, analytical, and organizational skills
- Good initiative and ability to work independently while functioning effectively with a team environment
- Good business judgment in execution of assigned work and in understanding when issues need to be escalated for resolution
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Outlook
- Understanding of accounting principles, concepts, and terminology
