Job Summary:
The APAC region is growing, and we are currently looking for an enthusiastic recruiter who loves all things University Relations to join the Talent Acquisition team. We have recruiters based on the West and East Coast of Australia to support the region. This is a dual role responsible for the recruitment of our University Hires (Interns, Graduates), Cadetships and STEM Returners along with corporate and project recruitment. We see this role continuing to grow as the business grows.
In this role, you will source, screen, and interview candidates for a variety of positions. You will work with hiring managers to create and post job requisitions, analyse resumes for relevant skills, knowledge, and experience, and assist with the selection process. Your work will contribute to bringing top talent to work for Bechtel, ensuring a competitive edge, and driving organizational growth.
This position is designated as part-time telework per or global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
University Relations/programs
- Manage the graduate and annual University Hire including Interns, Graduates, Cadetships and STEM Returners of the Australian region.
- Build and maintain a university relationship across Australian and build relationships with Technical Design and Tafe colleges.
- Attending various external events to support the business including schools, networking, and D&I events.
- Engage regularly with stakeholders including hiring managers and HR Business Partners to review hiring needs and recruiting activities.
- Coordinate Assessment Days (Brisbane and Perth) along with HR Business Partners, Talent Management which includes, organising merchandise, assist with set up for day, meeting and greet all shortlisted candidates, assist with the assessment of candidates along with the leadership team.
Corporate and Project Recruitment
- Full lifecycle recruitment of candidates including sourcing, pre-screening, interviewing and salary negotiation for a variety of positions, complying with company policy and government regulatory guidelines.
- Analyzes resumes for relevant skills, knowledge, and qualifications, conducts screening interviews, assists managers with interviews, tests and ranks candidates, extends offers, and provides feedback to unsuccessful candidates.
- Works with managers to create appropriate requisitions and ads (e.g., developing job descriptions, posting on internal and external sites, providing specifications to external recruiting agencies)
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both hiring managers and applicants to enhance candidate experience during the entire process.
- Search and build for diverse candidate pipeline and cultivate positive relationships with both active and passive candidates.
- Sourcing of passive candidates using various recruitment tools/techniques as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of relevant employment laws & compliance requirements
- Experience with graduate recruitment programs and/or managing bulk recruitment activities is highly desirable.
- Ideally have experience in the engineering, Mining or Construction industry.
- Relevant work experience with full life cycle recruiting, familiarity with high volume and fast paced environments, preferably in-house

- Prior experience in passive sourcing techniques and assessing talent Recruitment for hard-to-fill or niche positions.
- Understanding of talent acquisition best practices
