Project Overview:
Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex, and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies, and provide opportunities for local and regional communities. The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.
Job Summary:
In this role you will be responsible for all cost engineering and planning and scheduling activities relating to Supply Chain including working with the project team to update and maintain the detailed supply chain section of the project control schedule, run regular cost and schedule status meetings, provide schedule analysis and critical path reviews. You will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Procurement Progress and Performance (earned value management) tool and integration with the project control schedule. You will be instrumental in ensuring the project stays on track and on budget. You will also support project controls reporting commitments and support the development and integration of individual schedules into the total project plan.
Major Responsibilities:
- Updates and maintains the L3 detailed supply chain control schedule.
- Integrates supplier schedules and communicates project schedule requirements to supply chain and engineering teams.
- Works with Supply Chain & Engineering discipline leads to maintain accurate activity relationships and accurate durational estimates.
- Performs job-hour resource loading in Primavera P6. Updates the schedule at regular intervals with actual and forecast values for job-hours based on updated budgets and earned value data from the external procurement progress and performance tool.
- Manages the timely preparation of cost estimates. Prepares and analyses comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data.
- Ensures that project needs for cost control are met in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures.
- Responsible for development of monthly Estimate At Completion (EAC) for all major Purchase Orders and Change Management in relation to Supply Chain.
- Other responsibilities as designated
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in L1, L3 and L5 schedule development and scheduling across similar EPC/EPCM projects.
- Skilled in usage of Primavera P6 including resource loading.
- Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, which include cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction work processes in the mining industry or similar large scale industrial projects.
