Project Overview:

The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village.

The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah – Riyadh highway.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will collaborate to plan, develop, coordinate, and review project civil/structural design work.

You will produce drawings, facilitate discussions, communicate complex technical issues, and prepare civil/structural design estimates and work plan.

Your recommendations will ensure designs and work plans are in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget, regulations, and standards.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Works with other civil designers and drafters for a business line technology to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings.
  • Develops designs for complete and complex civil engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed.
  • Assists in constructing detailed scale models.
  • Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
  • Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved civil design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.
  • Participates in constructability reviews.
  • Other responsibilities as designated.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Specialized courses in drafting, design and engineering practices.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in design and drafting and demonstrated skill
  • Sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
  • Skill in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
  • Experience with relevant software e.g. OpenRoads Designer.
