Job Summary:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology Business Unit is seeking a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Manager to manage the LEED Consultant subcontract and be the primary team member focal point to assure that the desired LEED certification is achieved for all in-scope buildings of our client’s fabrication complex in the Northwest US.

The LEED Manager will work closely with and support the LEED consultant to coordinate and support Procurement, Construction, ES&H (Environmental Safety and Health) and Quality to fulfill their responsibilities in terms of attaining the targeted credits for LEED certification. This will be a combination of remote and onsite work.


Major Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility for this position is to be the Bechtel team member responsible for attaining the desired LEED certification of all buildings as agreed and manage consultants and colleagues to achieve those ends. The successful candidate will be able to support the consultant, foster close collaboration between all relevant parties, and understand the technical submittal reviews required. They will also be required to identify and appropriately elevate possible LEED and sustainability issues to achieving the desired credits, and to ensure submittal of adequate and effective documentation.

In addition, The LEED Manager will:

  • Ensure the client's sustainability and LEED goals and objectives are properly executed onsite by the contractors, subcontractors, and LEED consultants.
  • Act as the interface coordinator between the Client, Engineering, Design Consultants, and Construction Contractors in addition to the Bechtel team for LEED certification matters.
  • Oversee/support the LEED consultant to coordinate documentation collection, review them for quality, and coordinate reviews from the client or sustainability team.
  • Develop the LEED Certification Management Plan, as part of the Project Execution Plan and ensure that the Bechtel team and leads for all contractors and consultants understand and agree to their respective responsibilities.
  • Prior to construction, review planned site construction practices to ensure adherence to credit requirements, with particular attention to the Waste Management Plan, construction indoor air quality, pollution prevention, erosion control and work with others on the procurement and contracting chain to achieve the desired credit achievements.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with the client team, LEED Consultant and Design and Construction teams.
     

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (design), Architecture, Construction or related field LEED AP BD+C qualification.
  • Experience working with design teams and construction contractors on at least 2-3 LEED BD+C projects.
     

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Basic Qualification:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and proven ability to prioritize.
  • Able to build good relationships with people at all levels and have a collaborative, solutions-oriented, problem-solving approach, proactive.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Prior experience in planning and executing greenfield or brownfield projects in one or more of the following market segments: Semiconductor, Electric Vehicle, Battery, or Data Center.
