Project Overview:
Bechtel is a global provider of engineering, construction, and project management services with a reputation for excellence and innovative project delivery. An opportunity exists within the Bechtel project team to work closely with our customer on a key Bechtel project in Serbia. This project will be one of the largest greenfield projects ever built in Serbia.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations in alignment with the Project Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). You will evaluate contractor schedules to establish a Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB), analyze contractor weekly and monthly schedule updates against the PMB, provide timely feedback to contractors and communicate performance assessments to internal stakeholders as part of the monthly progress updates. You will be instrumental in ensuring the project stay on track in alignment with overall Project goals and objectives. The position will be based in our Belgrade office location for a period of 18-months and transition to the site location upon commencement of construction execution.
Major Responsibilities:
- Reports to and receives operational direction from designated supervisory personnel.
- Works within an Integrated Project Management Team providing planning and scheduling support within an assigned area of responsibility.
- Ascertains that the correct scope of work is reflected on all contractor schedules related to designated areas.
- Conducts schedule performance monitoring and analysis activities; prepares and coordinates the development of reports and dashboards.
- Contributes to the monthly progress and dashboard reports including contractor status, trend identification and impact assessment, forecasting and variance analysis, risks and opportunities.
- Ensures contractor compliance for schedule management and reporting against project procedures.
- Maintains interdisciplinary relationships with the project leadership, discipline groups and contractors’ personnel.
- Supports the Trend program through early identification of change, and assessment of contractors claims.
- Analysis of contractor quantity tracking, cost reporting and assessment of contractor’s performance.
- Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
- Prepares and maintains staffing plans, conducts analysis of contractors staffing and craft levels.
- Monitors contractor schedule deviations and recommends corrective action/workaround solutions for project/contractor considerations.
- Develops and writes the schedule commentary that appears in the monthly progress and similar reports.
- Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule and prepares and presents the Schedule Impact Report (CIAR).
- Performs any other duties as directed by the Lead Scheduler Engineer.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in schedule development, control, and analysis.
- Ability to conduct timely analysis of contractors schedules.
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
- Proficiency in using discipline-specific software applications inclusive of the Primavera (P6), Acumen Fuse, Primavera Risk Analysis (PRA), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing, and providing innovative solutions to schedule problems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
