Senior Planner, Serbia

Project Summary:  The Project is a 112.4 km dual-carriageway motorway located approx. 200km south of Belgrade in a low-level flood plain along the Morava River. The motorway spans from Pojate on the A1 (the North-South motorway in central Serbia) through Kruševac (which used to be an industrial hub of Yugoslavia) and up into Preljina near Čačak.

Located in the West Morava river valley, the Pojate to Preljina Motorway is considered essential to building the economic corridor to the industrial city of Kruševac, connecting it with important regional commercial centers like Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the port city of Bar, Montenegro. This route alignment is part of the comprehensive road network envisaged by the South-East European Transport Organization (SEETO) as part of Route 5 between Bulgaria and the Adriatic coast. The Government of Serbia (GoS) has already identified this connection as of critical importance to the development of roads infrastructure in Serbia.

Position Overview: The project planner is responsible for schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities. He/She will support project planning/scheduling activities when delegated ensuring work is completed as planned whilst identifying schedule-associated cost trends for management attention.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently supports overall planning & schedule development, analysis and reporting efforts.
  • Independently supports integration of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction schedules.
  •     Utilizes resource loading and leveling capabilities of Primavera 6.
  • Produces standard and custom schedules and charts from Primavera 6.
  • Exports and imports data between Primavera 6 and other databases.
  • Responsible for understanding the complete scope, project schedule objectives as well as supporting and maintaining a plan and schedule to accomplish the same.
  • Independently supports planning and coordinating schedule interfaces with the owner, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Independently supports the timely preparation and update of detailed execution schedules, resource utilization plans and progress tracking systems.
  • Independently supports the integration of all activity sequences & logics with the total project plan.
  • Independently supports accurate schedules, resource, quantities, progress, and performance reporting.
  • Independently monitors critical and near critical path work and identifies issues for mitigation.
  • Proactively assesses progress, completion forecasts and provides solutions to mitigate schedule delays or to optimize project completion. - Independently evaluates project progress against historical indicators and provides comparative analysis.
  • Independently supports the implementation of scheduling & progress metrics and monitoring systems.
  • Independently supports integration of the multi-site, engineering, procurement, construction and start-up planning and scheduling efforts.

 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management
  • Minimum six years working experience with emphasis on project planning.
  • Preferred experience managing large motorway/civil projects
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in planning, and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field and the home office. Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for project planning and scheduling activities.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, with a demonstrated ability to present planning and scheduling information to management and clients.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems. Knowledgeable about current industry and technical developments.
