Job Summary:

The Automation Support-3D CAD role is core of Bechtel's Engineering design and delivery of Project’s digital execution and delivery. The role is responsible for supporting effective setup, configuration, adoption, and continuous improvement of 2D and 3D CAD applications for Project’s Engineering team. In addition, he will require development, configuration, and maintenance of piping catalog in Smart Reference Data (SRD) and Smart 3D to support engineering design and material specification workflows.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports end-to-end application and automation support, including environment setup, configuration, catalog and reference data management, user access, and administration.
  • Configure and maintain piping catalog in Hexagon SRD and S3D to support 3D modelling and engineering.
  • Develop and manage piping material specifications and component catalog using Smart Reference Data (SRD).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define and implement vendor data in SRD and S3D specs
  • Support Smart 3D data integration with downstream Procurement and construction requirements
  • Customize Smart 3D tools, workflows, reports, and templates to meet project-specific requirements.
  • Support 3D model quality control and software QA activities to ensure compliance with project and corporate standards.
  • Participating in technical workshops and training
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to lower-level professionals.
  • Exercise ingenuity and independent judgment to the development of solutions for complex problems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of principles and concepts of product specialization.
  • Apply expertise as a Smart 3D specialist and has an extended knowledge of interrelationship of products.
  • Exercise self-direction, decision making and be considered senior level Automation support employee within the organization.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computers or related science from a four-year accredited college or university and 6+ years’ experience; or in lieu of degree, 10+ years of progressive experience in relevant industry.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience years in supporting Computer Aided 3D Design applications
  • Strong understanding of Smart3D piping catalog and Smart Reference Data (SRD) and related engineering data platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of piping codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, AWWA, MSS).
  • Familiarity with understanding Engineering Department Procedures and design guides.
  • Knowledge of piping catalog for large engineering projects
  • Smart 3D Application experience for testing and troubleshooting of Piping Specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
