Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. Job Summary:

In this role, you will collaborate in the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives to support various Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) tasks, in the areas of learning and development, data collection and reporting, ES&H performance indicators. You will provide technical, administrative support for the reportability of both Bechtel and customer management tools and incident investigation reports. You will work directly with other project areas (e.g. engineering, construction, subcontracting, procurement, project control and document control) to help them meet the applicable ES&H requirements in their activities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating a wide variety of Environmental, Safety and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate the implementation of Bechtel's ES&H Plan and ES&H Management System, including supporting compliance with applicable regulatory standards and requirements and contractual commitments.
  • Maintaining Safety, Health and Environmental databases, including incidents, audit/evaluation results, corrective actions and leadership programs.
  • Performing statistical analysis of data to identify performance trends and contributing factors as part of continuous improvement and makes recommendations thereon.
  • Identifying and coordinating software systems and specific electronic innovations used by the company and the customer.
  • Preparing communications, drafting reports and preparing documents for program execution and records archiving.
  • Coordinating the notifications of incidents, coordinating with the contracting companies the investigations and respective reports for the follow-up of corrective measures.
  • Participating in training coordination for employees according to the project training plan.
  • Preparing and consolidating Bechtel's ES&H performance reports and those established by the client.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires +10 years of work experience in Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental reporting roles and functions in the management of integrated management systems.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in project construction and knowledge of safety standards.
  • Experience and knowledge in working with environmental and health building regulations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry standards and criteria relevant to environmental and health learning and development needs.
  • Ability to write executive reports, develop presentations on project safety topics and manage assigned resources.
  • Knowledge of learning and development systems, both environmental and health applications and automation methods, and the application of computers to associate process improvement tasks.
  • General knowledge of writing and production of training, marketing and communication tools.
  • Ability to organize, guide and lead ES&H meetings with representatives of departments, contractors and subcontractors of the project.
  • Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication, and to prepare clear and complete correspondence.
  • Familiarity with Bechtel's environmental, safety and health processes and procedures (for internal or former Bechtel candidates).
