Bechtel Equipment Operations, Inc. Overview

Bechtel Equipment Operations, Inc. (BEO), a wholly owned Bechtel affiliate company, functions as the construction equipment asset manager of Bechtel Group and is actively engaged in projects across all business lines.  In support of its involvement, BEO uses sophisticated estimating and scheduling systems to assist projects in developing bis proposals, equipment leas versus purchase analysis, tool and consumable utilization forecasts, scaffold estimating and supply, and overall construction fleet utilization plans.  Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, BEO also manages several permanent global equipment storage and support facilities.

 

Position Summary:

The Telematics Equipment Specialist will be responsible for managing the telematics program across all Bechtel projects which utilize telematics technology.

The position duties of the Telematics Equipment Specialist include but are not limited to the following items.

  • Supervise and direct the installation of Service Trackers on Bechtel owned and leased equipment.
  • Assist team to troubleshoot and repair hardware issues with that are identified by the site equipment manager.
  • Evaluate returned hardware to assess its serviceability.
  • Monitor reports generated from system to insure the system is working properly.
  • Support Project personnel when issues are encountered.
  • Communicate with the various Hardware and Software Providers to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Communicate with development teams and participate in the evaluation and testing of new hardware and processes.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of two years working on and/or around construction equipment.
  • Must have a minimum of two years working in the capacity of a mechanics helper or equivalent experience.
  • Basic electrical skills required.
  • Basic computer skills, inclusive of knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Must possess legal right to work in US without sponsorship
  • Must be physically capable to conduct field inspections and participate in project walkdowns which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in very small and/or confined spaces, and lifting up to 60 lbs.

 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Direct experience with OEM's telematic hardware and system.
  • Direct experience with PEMS.
