Bechtel Energy has an opportunity for an experienced field engineer to come on board as Piping Field Engineer for our Pluto Train 2 project working FIFO in Karratha, WA. 

About the Project:

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.  Woodside Energy is Australia's leading natural gas producer, and Bechtel is excited to be working with this key customer to help meet the increasing global demand for LNG as a transitional energy source.

About the Role:

In your new role, your responsibilities will include:

• providing technical assistance to piping superintendents and direct hire craft.
• performing piping field inspections and document in accordance with Project ITP’s, Project Procedures and Drawings, relevant international codes, and Bechtel Standard Work Process Procedures.
• verifying field installed piping quantities through Pipefighter.
• assisting supervision and project controls in the preparation of detailed work plans and short-term schedules.
• the development of piping work and packages in conjunction with supervision.
• the development of pressure test packages, and responsible for witnessing and verifying and acceptance.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring:

• degree in Mechanical Engineering is desired but may be waived if equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated.
• Solid experience with Piping Field Engineering Direct Hire experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment.
• experience in the design and/or construction of LNG facilities is preferred.
• strong technical knowledge of construction piping installation, hydrotesting and pneumatic pipe testing.
• knowledge of Universal Plant Viewer is preferred.
• familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Fighter Tools, INFOWorks or Aconex, BPS or DSCS, PTR or Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects.

Additional Information:

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
