Bechtel Mining and Metals has an opportunity for a Civil Engineer – Materials Handling to join our Centre of Excellence team in Brisbane.

About the Role:
As Civil Engineer – Materials Handling, you will be involved in the civil design and development of mining projects, including concept sketches and layouts. Your work will involve being a part of a multidiscipline team designing earthworks structures for drainage, access roads and overland conveyor arrangements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- The use of engineering computer modelling programs (preferrably OpenRoads although CivilCAD, or12d) and provision of solutions to generate civil earthworks designs and 3D models for inclusion in multidiscipline projects.
- Preparation of design calculations and the development of specifications to support both studies and detailed design activities.
- Preparation or reviews of engineering studies and reports by others.
- Review and check designs, drawings, and data prepared by contractors external to the Bechtel organisation.
- Review design documents from subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and subsequently prepare comments and recommendations to be returned to those subcontractors.
- Other responsibilities as designated.
What You Bring:
- Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or University with at least 5 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer.
- Able to be registered as an RPEQ, or already registered as RPEQ is preferrable.
- A high degree of capability in oral and written communication skills will be required.
- Ability to assist in the preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs, and change orders.
- Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
